The Table Mountain cableway is one of South Africa’s most popular tourist attractions, transporting 65 passengers per car from Tafelberg Road to the top of Table Mountain. The floor of each car rotates, giving everyone a 360-degree view on the way up. As a World Heritage Site, and home to one of the world's New 7 Wonders of Nature, Table Mountain National Park’s spectacular beauty and rich biodiversity are well worth exploring, and you’ll be dazzled by the scenic spectrum that reveals itself from the summit.
On this hiking trip to Table Mountain National Park, students will climb to the top of the famous peak called Lion’s Head (2,195 ft.). Students can select for one of two hiking routes: the long and winding path up or the steeper, more difficult but more direct one. Each student’s safety is a foremost concern, and each hiking group is accompanied by experienced mentors who encourage everyone to keep a steady pace and ensure that no one gets left behind. At the summit, students can take photos and use binoculars to observe different areas of Cape Town from an impressive vantage point.
